Causes and troubleshooting of two common types of copier faults

accidental paper jam of the copier is not a fault, but if paper jam occurs frequently, it needs to be checked and repaired. First of all, you should find out where the paper jam is, the paper feeding part, the paper feeding part, or the fixing part? Of course, if any parts in these three parts are obviously damaged, they can be replaced. However, in many cases, the entire transmission mechanism has no obvious damage to any parts, nor any obstacles, but it is frequently jammed, which not only affects the work efficiency, but also affects the working mood of operators. For maintenance personnel, sometimes several factors are intertwined to affect diagnosis

1. Paper jam at the paper feeding position: there are many aspects involved in paper jam at this position. First, check whether the paper used meets the standard (such as paper weight, size, and dryness). For car owners, standard paper should be used when testing the machine. Irregular cartons are also the cause of paper jam. You can try it this way. Only put a few sheets of paper in the carton, and then take the paper. If it can't be rubbed in or in place, it can be determined that it is the problem of the paper take up wheel or the paper take up clutch; If the paper take-up is in place, but the paper cannot move forward, it is estimated that it is caused by the slipping of the alignment roller or the failure of the alignment clutch. For some models, the skew of paper take-up may be caused by the unequal clamping force on both sides of the carton. In addition, many operators use too much force when inserting and placing the carton, causing several sheets of paper in the carton to separate from the claw, which is bound to cause paper jam

2. Paper jam in the paper feeding part: if paper jam often occurs in this part, it also consumes a lot of natural resources. You should use the door switch pressing plate (a tool) to carefully observe the operation of this part. After excluding the factors of conveyor belt and guide wheel, you should check the separation mechanism. Because different models of copiers have different separation methods, they should be treated differently. At present, there are three separation methods for several popular models in China: negative pressure separation, separation belt separation, and charge separation. The specific inspection and maintenance methods will not be repeated here

3. Paper jam at the fusing part: when the fusing roller separation claw is used for a long time, its tip is blunt or the small spring fatigue fails, it will cause paper jam. For some models, the paper feeding roller at the paper outlet will jam frequently after being used for a long time and severely worn. As for the paper jam caused by serious scaling of the fusing roller, it is a common situation on general models

in case of this kind of fault, you should first make a routine inspection to check whether the main belt electrical appliances and the transfer belt electrical appliances are obviously damaged, such as the corona breakage of some stripped and torn experimental materials, the breakdown of plastic parts, etc., as well as whether the photosensitive drum rotates and how bright the scanning lamp is. At the same time, the operator should also be asked about the type of toner used, the time of adding the carrier, and so on. After the above factors are eliminated, the following operations should be done: open the front cover, turn on the door switch with the switch pressing plate, and make the copier in the normal power on state. Place the original on the glass plate, turn on the machine and run the paper. When the paper is transported under the photosensitive drum, turn off the machine, remove the photosensitive drum, and check whether there is an image on the drum. If there is an image, it indicates that the problem lies in the transfer part. If there is no image, it indicates that the problem lies in the main belt electrical part and the developing part

there is a set of corresponding inspection and treatment methods for the faults of the transfer part and the main belt electrical part, which will not be repeated here. There are two main reasons for the failure of the developing part: (1) the driving clutch of the developing roller fails, and the developing roller cannot rotate, which may also be due to improper adjustment. (2) for some models of copiers, such as np-270, the developer is pressed against the photosensitive drum by the locking rod (maintaining a certain gap). When the operator rotates the locking rod, the action is too fast and too fierce, resulting in the distortion of the locking rod, which cannot lock the developer, The gap between the developing roller and the photosensitive drum is too large, and the toner can't jump to the photosensitive drum. 3D metal printing, fullerenes and so on are the achievements of new material innovation, and there is blank copy

the above is only two cases of copier failure. In fact, there are various faults of the copier, some of which can be determined according to the self diagnosis function of the copier itself. Some faults can only be determined after observation and analysis. Facing a faulty copier, how can we make a correct diagnosis and repair it as soon as possible? Based on several years of practice, I think the following practices are more appropriate

1. Ask first. Ask the operator whether other people have repaired the machine and moved any parts after the machine breaks down. According to the operator's tips, carefully check these parts for incorrect installation, etc

2. Follow the principle of "easy before difficult". First, eliminate the obvious and common factors. Don't dismantle and unload blindly. According to theory and experience, carefully observe, carefully analyze, eliminate the false and retain the true, and finally determine the fault source

3. The removed parts should be placed properly to prevent yourself or others from damaging the parts in a hurry. In a sense, this also reflects the quality of a maintenance personnel

4. For magnetic parts, be sure to check whether you have brought small metal objects such as pins and paper clips before reassembly. It is common to see cases of greater failures caused by foreign matters entering the machine

5. For models that you have never been in contact with, you must read the random data before hand inspection. Although most copiers have similar structures, the different models inevitably have their particularity. For the maintenance with a large amount of disassembly, if there is no detailed information, it is best to draw a local assembly sketch before disassembly, or make a simple mark on the parts to prevent wrong installation

to become an excellent maintenance personnel, the key lies in the ability to diagnose faults. To have this ability, you must have certain theory and experience, study hard, and practice boldly and carefully
